Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle MULTIMIN-EVOLUTION Virbac

Description

What is Multimin Evolution?

Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle is a chelated trace element injection, formulated with four essential metals required for immune function, reproduction, antioxidant defence, and general herd performance.

It’s optimised to correct mineral deficiencies rapidly and stop them from recurring long-term, especially in situations where oral supplements are not effective at meeting nutritional demands.

The four ingredients in Multimin cattle injection are:

  • Zinc (60g/L)
  • Copper (15g/L)
  • Manganese (10g/L)
  • Selenium (5g/L)

Chelation ensures better absorption and uptake of these key metals through an animal’s bloodstream and into its liver.

How does Multimin Evolution work?

Once injected, the Multimin formula works by entering the bloodstream rapidly, reaching peak levels in the liver after just 24 hours – compared to weeks when using an oral formula. It provides prolonged antioxidant activity for several months after application.

Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle is significantly more effective than oral supplements because of its injectable nature and the chelation of the four metals involved. The chelating agent, EDTA, protects the minerals to ensure the best possible efficacy.

Why trace minerals are important for cattle health

Trace minerals like those in Multimin are critical for maintaining health amongst your herd. Here’s what each ingredient of the four contained in this formula does:

  • Zinc: Supports fertility, immune function, hoof health, udder integrity, skin quality, lung function, and bone and cartilage development.
  • Copper: Benefits placental retention, overall fertility, disease resistance, red blood cell formation, bone growth, and connective tissue health.
  • Manganese: Helps with ovulation, embryo survival, foetal growth, lactation, blood clotting, and metabolic function.
  • Selenium: Supports antioxidant defence, healthy growth, embryo viability, immune response, muscle function, and the prevention of cellular oxidation.

What are the benefits of using Multimin Evolution?

By improving trace mineral availability at critical phases in an animal’s life, Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle supports broad health-based benefits including:

  • Stronger innate and adaptive immunity
  • Increased conception rates
  • Better embryo survival
  • Improved response to vaccines
  • Enhanced growth, bone formation, and tissue development

This makes Multimin Evolution a standout strategic tool for boosting herd performance when nutritional demands and physiological stress are high.

Why choose Multimin Evolution for cattle?

If you’re considering Multimin Evolution for use amongst your herd, there are two key attributes that set it apart from competitor brands and other non-injectable mineral supplements on the market.

Enhanced zinc concentration

Multimin Evolution contains the highest concentration of zinc of any registered injectable trace mineral in Australia. Research shows that high-performing cattle require substantially more zinc during growth, gestation, and lactation phases.

Zinc is vital for:

  • Immune response
  • Reproduction and spermatogenesis
  • Udder health
  • Hoof integrity
  • Skin and coat condition
  • Wound healing
  • Bone, cartilage, and connective tissue development

Injectable formula

Relying solely on oral formulations can often lead to reduced absorption and a variation in intake. Injectable trace minerals are much more reliable.

Multimin Evolution Injectable for Cattle:

  • Provides a precise dose directly into an animal’s bloodstream
  • Rapidly corrects deficiencies
  • Ensures minerals are available when cattle need them most (e.g., pre-calving, pre-joining, weaning)
  • Avoids feed-based variability issues

Frequently asked questions

How quickly does Multimin Evolution start working?

After Multimin Evolution is administered, trace minerals enter the bloodstream within hours, and reach peak liver levels after 24 hours.

Can Multimin Evolution be used with oral supplements?

Yes, Multimin Evolution can be used in conjunction with oral formulas. Injectables provide consistent delivery during high-demand periods when oral absorption may be limited, so they often pose a better, more comprehensive solution.

Is Multimin Evolution suitable for both beef and dairy herds?

Yes, Multimin’s formulation supports reproduction, immunity, and productivity across all classes of cattle.

Does it replace the need for a full mineral program?

No – Multimin Evolution injection should be used to complement your broader nutrition strategy. It’s a targeted tool designed to optimise trace mineral status during key periods, but doesn’t take the place of other critical mineral supplements.

Being a first time buyer of multimin Evolution, we purchased for the % of active ingredients, volume size and price. We have trailed on weaner cattle and found the response very effective with a bulk of dry grass pasture. We have another round of weaners to do and have now decided to do all our cattle. As with just dry lick we’re unable to monitor each animals consumption. Recommend highly.

Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle contains Zinc @ 60g/L, Copper @ 15g/L, Manganese @ 10g/L & Selenium @ 5g/L, whereas Multimin Evolution for Cattle contains Manganese @10g/L, Chromium @ 5g/L, Copper @ 15g/L, Selenium @ 3g/L & Zinc @ 40g/L. The main difference in this makeup is that Multimin Chrome includes Chromium. Multimin Evolution is a great product for getting cattle performance ready by ensuring an adequate immune response and optimal fertility. Multimin Chrome has similar benefits, but the addition of Chromium means it is the best option for young cattle during high-stress periods, such as during weaning, handling, and feedlot induction.

    Answered by the admin

Subcutaneous injections for cattle should not be administered in the back of the ear unless specified in the product's directions for use. Cydectin Long Acting Injection is a high-load formulation requiring a different application method. The ideal locations for subcutaneous injections in cattle are in the neck or shoulder. (1) Neck: The loose skin on the side of the neck, in the triangular area formed by the shoulder blade, base of the ear, and the cervical vertebrae, is a preferred site. It offers ample space and minimizes the risk of damaging valuable meat cuts. (2) Shoulder: The loose skin over the shoulder blade is another suitable option, particularly in young calves where the neck area may not be as developed. If unsure, consulting a veterinarian is crucial. They can provide tailored advice based on the individual animal's health, the specific medication being administered, and any relevant industry guidelines or regulations.

  5. Q How frequently should Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle be administered?
Asked by Ganthorpe on May 11, 2024 5:51 pm
    A

Multimin Evolution Injection for Cattle should be administered prior to ‘high demand’ periods of cattle, such as four weeks before calving in heifers and cows, eight to four weeks before artificial insemination or joining, and at weaning in calves, to allow antioxidant levels to peak. For best results, Multimin Evolution can be administered every three months according to your management practices and the trace mineral requirements of your animals.
